本报电 中国农业科学院棉花研究所李付广研究员团队近日在棉花中发现了一种新型高效杀虫蛋白，具有广谱杀虫效果且绿色无害，若利用其机制制成生物农药，在防控草地贪夜蛾、棉铃虫等农作物重大鳞翅目害虫方面将具有广阔的应用前景。相关研究成果日前发表在国际期刊《自然植物》上。
据介绍，草地贪夜蛾、棉铃虫、玉米螟、稻纵卷叶螟、小菜蛾等鳞翅目害虫是联合国粮农组织认定的全球重大农业害虫，对棉花、玉米等农业生产构成重大威胁。随着昆虫进化，草地贪夜蛾等鳞翅目害虫开始对现有防控措施产生了田间抗性，因此，急需寻找新型的杀虫蛋白来加强防控。
围绕这一目标，李付广带领研究团队开展深入研究，最终在棉花中鉴定到一种天然的新型杀虫蛋白GhJAZ24。实验证明，该蛋白对草地贪夜蛾和棉铃虫均表现出显著的抗虫性。进一步研究显示，该蛋白的杀虫机制与此前常用的抗虫蛋白——苏云金芽孢杆菌蛋白的杀虫机制完全不同，其杀虫谱系甚至可能更广。团队随后培植了含有大量该杀虫蛋白的棉花、玉米、水稻，均展现出了对草地贪夜蛾、棉铃虫、玉米螟等在内的鳞翅目害虫的高抗性。
